"I AM." vs. "WE ARE..."

 APRIL1

"WHEN YOU LIFT UP THE SON OF MAN, THEN YOU WILL REALIZE THAT I AM..." (Jn.8:21-30)

"I AM"

The name revealed by God to Moses.

It was in that name where Moses led the Israelite people out of Egypt. It was in that name where they were provided food (Manna) in the desert. It was in that name who protected them from the Egyptian enemies who pursued them.

However, they complained (Nm.21:4-9). "WE ARE disgusted with this wretched food."

They were uncomfortable in the desert. They were dissatisfied with the food that God provided them.

Thus, God punished them by sending seraph serpents that bit them. Many of them died. However, they prayed to God and through Moses' intercession God saved them through the bronze serpent.

COVID-19 brings difficulty and danger, even death in the lives of so many people.

When health is threatened; livelihood is unstable; some basic needs are scarce & mobility is slowed down, still what matters is not "WE ARE" but "I AM!"

However, God remains constant in His Providence. "I AM!"

Like the penitential people of Israel in olden times, we pray and ask for the intercession of the Saints.

"O Lord, hear my prayer, and let my cry come to you" (Ps 102).
