Peace be with You!

"PEACE BE WITH YOU!"
(Jn.20:19-31) 2nd Sunday of Easter / Divine Mercy Sunday

"Peace be with you!" , Jesus greeted the disciples.

Afraid & in doubt, Jesus consoled, calmed & confirmed the truth of the news that He is alive & appeared to them. He removed the fear that haunted them. He strengthened the disciples from those who hunted them.

The danger of COVID-19 brings us fear. The Easter faith brings us PEACE.

Jesus' peace implies mercy.

Jesus restored the broken friendship with his disciples who denied, betrayed and left him into the hands of their enemies. He reconciled with them. He continued by showing to them his hands & his side.

The scars of His wounds meant not to scare but to CARE for them.

COVID-19 wounds us so badly. Healing may not be immediate but, with & in faith, God will heal.

Maybe, like Thomas, we doubt because we have not seen the cure to COVID-19. But Jesus assures us, "Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."

After all, we are recipients of Jesus' peace. We are at THE MERCY of Jesus, Our Divine Healer.

So, as the psalm says, "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love is everlasting." (Ps.118)

"Peace be with you!"
