A Formation Session via Zoom for Sisters ages 51 to 60

At last, the organized formation module by the formation team for sisters in the age bracket of 51-60 was successfully done today, June 7, 2021! The aim was to remind the participants and give them key points on how to practice Contemplation in Action, carving out their sacred time for Jesus amidst a very busy life in ministry. Fr. Silvino (Junjun) Fr. Jun Borres, SJ the resource speaker, developed the topic “Praying Over our Ministry’ which he presented to us beautifully.

The module had two major themes: Foundation of Ministry and Tensions in the Ministry. Under the topic Tensions in the Ministry, five pairs of tensions were identified, such as Self-love and Self-denial, Ministry-Leisure, Community-Solitude, Friendship- Generativity, and Prayer-Humour which were presented to the participants with down-to-earth examples.

The talk was followed by the open forum, where the sisters were able to give their comments and ask questions, after which the participants were given these guide questions for reflection to reflect on during their personal moments for prayer.

The second part of the session was the small group sharing on the topic. This was done after lunch when sisters entered their break-out rooms. After the sharing, the participants gathered again in the big assembly. The commonalities in the small group sharing were shared in the big assembly.

Sr. Emelinda (Lynn) Falsis underlined the importance of taking care of oneself and balancing life, especially in between ministry - leisure, prayer - humour, and between community- solitude. This is a challenge to the eleven members of this particular age category.

Thank you and congratulations to the Formation Team, Sr Lynn and her Council in organizing this online ongoing formation for the Sisters. A gift indeed ! Blessed be God !
