Sacred Heart School Hijas de Jesus Celebrates “FACEtahan With St. Candida”

1 index Aug. 9

     The Coronavirus may have stopped us from seeing each other in person and from going to school and celebrate our feast physically together, but the virus will never take away our faith and celebrating as a family of St. Candida to honor our Mother Foundress, on her 109th Feast Day.

 Sacred Heart School Hijas de Jesus educative family marked the celebration with the following activities:

 1.   Praying the Novena for her Feast Day within the 9 days leading to the Feast day.

A certain group of teachers, staff, maintenance personnel, students and sisters were assigned a certain day where each of the groups was able to:

Ø  look at oneself with Mother Candida in Jesus’ Way

through the reflection parts embedded in the novena

Ø  prepare the gift that we want to offer her on her day, where messages for her from the different members of the educative family were expressed and posted in St. Candida’s Corner.

Truly, the novena provided us the grace to “turn our hearts towards God—a special moment for us to pray, to renew, to discern, to thank, to celebrate!!!” as what Consolação de Matos, FI, and Teresa Ramírez, FIs expressed.

$   2.  Eucharistic Celebration

This was held in the morning of Mother Foundress’ feast day and was presided by Fr. Archie Carampatan, SJ. Due to MECQ restrictions, a few members of the faculty and staff, the sisters, and invited representatives from the Parents and Alumni Association were invited to attend the mass on site, while the majority of the teachers, parents, and students joined the celebration online.

$   3.  “Facetahan” With St. Candida Activity, with the Theme, “Going Forward on the Shared Path with Gratitude ".

Right after the Eucharistic celebration, all the teachers and students joined the “Facetahan” With St. Candida activity. The festive mood was celebrated online where:

v  Students were welcomed in each of the Zoom meet platform by St. Candida’s songs played by the teachers.

v  Sharing of Snacktime.   Everyone then shared simple snacks- mostly omelet prepared ahead of time as facilitated by CLF teachers, Grade Level and Homeroom Advisers.
