Celebrating SMAD Teacher’s Day in the Month of the Holy Rosary

 Educ Day 16

Celebrating SMAD Teacher's Day last October 7, 2021, assumes significance amid the coronavirus pandemic. In this crisis, educators have shown, as they have done so often, good leadership and innovation in ensuring that #LearningNeverStops, that no learner is left behind.

Activities in the afternoon of that day started with a Tribute for teachers initiated by the Grade School and High School Activity Coordinators with the GSSC and HSSC Officers. A video prepared by the students with their club Moderators depicts renewed appreciation of their teachers and their vital role in educational recovery.

The second part of the program was the launching of the month of the Holy Rosary. We all know that October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary and is significant to Catholics and Christians. A virtual rosary via Google Meet was made possible through the direction of the RCA with the Pastoral Team involving everyone in the SMAD educative community. If we consider the power of the Rosary in this time of the pandemic as seen in its effects, we find a great abundance of proof of its great value.

The afternoon culminated with a program prepared by PAFA under the leadership of its officers. It started with an Opening Remark given by the school Principal, Dr. Rodilla Tumanda, followed by the different Online games participated by everyone in the community. It was an afternoon of enjoyment and fun. It allows us to come closer to one another even if it's done virtually and have strong bonding. The day ended with a Tribute Video for the SMAD educative family prepared by the team, a Closing Remark by the PAFA President, Miss Anna Christie Aga, and the Closing Song composed by Sr. Lee Uera, F.I. entitled "Hail, Stella Maris" in honor of Mary, Star of the Sea, the nominal Patroness of Stella Maris Academy of Davao (Hijas de Jesus).
