MUNTIPARLAS' Consortium Day 2022

 1.Consortium admins1

Sometime in the mid-90s, four private Catholic schools in the southern part of Metro Manila, the De la Salle Santiago Zobel School, San Beda College Alabang, Marymount Academy, and Manresa School organized themselves and formed an association purposefully to strengthen friendship and collaboration in responding to the mission of evangelization and in promoting personnel development.

This association named the MUNTIPARLAS SOUTH SCHOOL CONSORTIUM, INC. had been recognized and duly registered in the year 1995. From then on, Consortium Day has been celebrated annually which is hosted and sponsored alternately by the four-member schools. The Consortium schools did not have the chance to celebrate the twenty-fifth founding anniversary last school year 2020-2021 apparently because of the effect of the covid19 pandemic on all schools.

The Consortium Day Program of activities in line with the 25th founding anniversary celebration happened successfully online via zoom and more than 970 teachers, staff, and administration of the four Consortium schools virtually gathered and attended this event. In the Opening Program, the brief history of the Consortium including the key persons who became instrumental to its organization had been shown. The presentation of the Consortium Board Members and Administration of the four-member schools followed immediately. To formally open the Consortium Day 2022 and welcome all the participants, Mr. Eleazar D. Solas, Principal of Manresa School gave his opening remarks.  The Zoomba, Zumba led by the PE teachers came next and eventually set the mood of the event. The virtual games and raffle draw offered fun and excitement, joy, surprise, and thrill to all the participants. The online singing contest, Tawag ng Tanghalan sa Consortium added enjoyment and entertainment to the morning’s event. Miss Roli Alexandra Oral, an alumna and now a teacher of Manresa School won the singing contest.

The highlight of the celebration was the Kapihan at kwentuhan in the afternoon. The zoom breakout sessions were arranged by subject areas for the teachers and by the office for the staff and another group for the school administration. The participants with their cup of coffee or any beverages shared stories as part of their ‘kwentuhan’ that were focused on funny experiences during ODL (online distance learning) or their discoveries and realizations in this pandemic time. The sharing was engaging and enriching because participants believed that they truly learned from each other’s sharing. Likewise, it was simply relaxing, fun, and interesting.

Manresa School has been honored and grateful for hosting the silver anniversary celebration of the MUNTIPARLAS SOUTH SCHOOL CONSORTIUM, INC., and the Consortium Day for this year. The event is a manifestation of a stronger friendship and collaboration among Consortium Schools in fulfilling the call of the mission of evangelization as Catholic schools.
