What does come to our mind when we speak of wellness? We admit that we become more conscious of our health condition, of our state of well-being, or wellness, in this trying time of the Covid19 pandemic. Right?
Manresa School-Hijas de Jesus in cooperation with the Staff Committee of the MUNTIPARLAS SOUTH SCHOOL CONSORTIUM INC. hosted two-fold webinars focusing on wellness. Wellness, as we all know has many dimensions such as physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, mental, and financial. The non-teaching staff of the four-member schools of the Consortium namely De La Salle Santiago-Zobel School, San Beda College Alabang, Marymount Academy, and Manresa School attended the two designed webinars on mental health and financial wellness this school year 2021-2022.
The first webinar held last November 19, 2021, was focused on mental health issues, entitled Mental Health: Building Resiliency Amid Pandemic. This was facilitated by Ms. Therese Amita De La Cruz, APSA, and was attended by 157 non-teaching staff. It’s very important to give equal attention and importance to our mental and emotional wellness in order to keep balance in life, sound disposition, and a positive outlook in life.
Truly beneficial to all is to gain financial literacy and wellness especially nowadays. And so, this is the prioritized topic of the second webinar entitled, Financial Wellness – Protection and Health attended by the non-teaching staff last April 1, 2022. Our friends from Metrobank, Ms. Alma Bella P. Maasin, the Sales Officer of Trust Banking Group, and Ms. Noemi R. Morena, the Senior Area Manager of AXA Philippines brightened up the day by generously sharing their knowledge and expertise on financial wellness. What had been stressed was the old saying, “health is (the new) wealth”. Wellness is a condition that we can plan, we can prepare for, and can also protect. Let’s be health-ready all the time.
In conclusion, we express our sincerest thanks and congratulations to all the non-teaching staff who actively participated the wellness webinars and to the Staff Committee of the MUNTIPARLAS SOUTH SCHOOL CONSORTIUM INC. - Mrs. Marites Llorando of Manresa School, Ms. Doris Salvador of De La Salle Zobel School, Ms. Vanessa Montero of Marymount, and Dr. Wilbert Aumer Namoc of San Beda College Alabang for organizing the two-fold wellness webinars. We all hope that we all stay healthy and well in all aspects of our life.
