“The world is too small for my desires!” What an apt slogan for volunteers of the medical-dental-optical mission inspired by St. Candida Ma. de Jesus’ love for the poor.

The Colegio de las Hijas de Jesus Alumni Association, Inc, together with the Philippine College of Occupational Medicine and the Iloilo Association of Municipal Health Officers, Inc., sponsored a Medical-Dental and Optical Mission at Barangay Banban Pequeño, Calinog, Iloilo Province, last September 19, 2015.

Travelling a 2-hour concrete and dirt roads from the city of Iloilo, the volunteers reached Bgy. Banban Pequeño which is 7 kilometers away from the town proper of Calinog. The medical-dental-optical volunteers served 173 children, adults and senior citizens and gave free medicines and snacks.

The activity was spearheaded by Dr. Clemencia “Mimi” Bondoc, President of the Alumni Association, together with Sr. Georgette Hormillosa, F.I., and Sr. Emma Quinquero, F.I.

The volunteers would like to extend their gratitude to Hon. Tranquilino Castigador, Jr., Punong Barangay of Banban Pequeño, as well as to the Barangay Kagawads, Treasurer, Secretary, Nutrition Staff, Point Officer, Bookkeeper, Daycare Workers and the Tanods who facilitated the venue and offered nutritious lunch.
