“DOGS EVEN USED TO COME AND LICK HIS SORES.”

They say, “Dogs are man’s best friends.” But isn’t it that man should be man’s best friend?

The story of the poor Lazarus and the rich man tells us why dogs are man’s best friends.

The rich man, though physically near, is so emotionally and socially far from Lazarus who is in dire need of food and attention and care. The lack of compassion of the rich man is supplied by the dogs who used to lick the sores of Lazarus.: good for the dogs!

Indeed, a dog does not only teach loyalty but also compassion. Jesus tells the story of Lazarus and the rich man for us to be compassionate.

Sometimes God reveals his compassion through a dog. We just need to see things in a different angle: DOG or GOD?
