The date, April 2, is significant in the life of St. Cándida María de Jesús, Foundress of the Hijas de Jesús Congregation. Exactly one hundred forty-four years ago or in 1869, before the altar of the Holy Family at the El Rosarillo Church in Valladolid, Spain, St. Cándida received the inspiration from God to found a female religious congregation dedicated to bring more souls closer to God through education.

We thank God and warmly congratulate both Srs. Lorena & Jeck for their definitive incorporation into the Congregation. We pray that under the maternal protection and help of Mary our dear Mother, this celebration will also inspire them to bring more persons closer to God by their very being & through their works.
