"AFTER THIS, JESUS REVEALED HIMSELF TO THE DISCIPLES AT THE SEA OF GALILEE [TIBERIAS]." (Jn.21:1-19)

After or even during Holy Week, some people flocked in the sea (beaches) for swimming. This practice might have become part of Filipino leisure.

The sea, especially during summer, is one of the many places where people go.

For Jesus' disciples, the sea was important. It was not just a place of livelihood (fishing) but a place that brought them new life. The risen Lord appeared to them in the Lake of Tiberias. This changed their lives.

When Simon Peter returned to his former way of life, fishing, Jesus appeared to him. Having caught nothing, Jesus suggested, "Cast the net at the right side of the boat & you will find something." When they obeyed Jesus' words, they were not able to pull it in because of the number of fish. Obedience to Jesus' words bring success!

Now, after the recognition of the risen Lord, Simon Peter's life was changed. He was given the responsibility to "tend the sheep."

In our workplaces, we get our living. But only in seeing God there that which gives us life.
