"BOUNCE BACK"

"BUT I SAY TO YOU, OFFER NO RESISTANCE TO ONE WHO IS EVIL." (Mt.5:38-42)

Bounce Back

"BOUNCE BACK" happens when you throw a basketball to a wall.

The rubber and the air inside are some of the factors that make it so. The stronger it is thrown, the stronger it bounces back.

We are not a basketball. We are not to "bounce back" when we are hurt. We are not made of rubber with AIR inside.

Instead of offering a hurt, we are to offer our HEART.

Jesus offers a new approach instead of the old law, "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth." He says, "Offer no resistance to one who is evil."

Repaying evil with good involves the discipline of self-control, self-restraint and tolerance.

When we get even, we are at the ODDS.

We will miss the virtues of Jesus namely mercy, forgiveness, love and peace. These are more important because they bring happiness instead of us becoming bitter whenever we get even.

We are not to "BOUNCE BACK" but to BLESS!
