Jesus Saves!

1.Jesus Saves
"It's the end of the world!"
Out of fear, anxiety and ignorance there were those who have said this during the series of earthquake in Mindanao especially in most affected areas where establishments, buildings and houses were destroyed.
When the Jews talked about how the temple was adorned with precious stones and filled with votive offerings to God, Jesus said, "The days will come when there shall not be left one stone upon another of all that you now admire; all will be torn down."
Accompanied with worries and fears, this shocked the people. Why? The temple was their national and spiritual identity. It was even their source of security. It was their life!
Certain things, institutions and even people whom we rely and trust give us security, safety and stability. But what if they are taken away from us? What if they are destroyed? Surely, it will come to a point that we are tempted to say, "It's the end of the world!"
But is it really the question, "Will the world end?"
The question to be addressed is not "Katapusan sa Kalibutan" but "Katapusan sa mga Walay Kalibutan." "Katapusang ng mga Walang Pakialam".
Prophet Malachi was sent by God to let the disheartened people know of a God who will save them. In the difficult period of the history of Israel because of being exiled in Babylon, poverty, lack of livelihood and no land to cultivate, God encouraged the people.
"The sun of justice will shine upon you who respect my name and bring health in its rays. You will come out leaping, like fattened calves" Mal.3:19-20)."
"End of the World"? No! But "End of the Worldly," Yes!
"In God, We Trust!" We used to say.
Even if our source of security is destroyed, God is with us. God will restore all things in Christ. "The Lord comes to rule the earth with justice" (Psalm 98).
Endure patiently;  Jesus SAVES!
