Good morning everyone! I am here before you in the name of my golden jubilee co-celebrants who requested me to express our “golden thanks” to all of you

Sr. Lilia Pelegrino, Sr. Rosario Garcia, Sr. Ma. Dolores Aranda, Sr. Rebecca Loreto & Sr. Araceli Pasquin (Seated)

More than 50 years ago, when we were young ladies then, Jesus, smiling and looking at us with love, mercy and compassion, chose the nine (9) of us and invited us to follow him. For the joy of that moment, when He looked at us with His merciful and compassionate love, we were at the same time doubtful and uncertain, but we said “Yes, Lord, we will follow you. Thank you for choosing us to become Hijas de Jesus.”

The nine of us persevered in our religious vocation as Hijas de Jesus though two (2) of our companions have gone ahead to the embrace of our Loving Father in heaven: Sr. Pura Ramos and Sr. Gregoria de Jesus, (the other two will have theirs next year).

Religious profession of vows is not an act of self-affirmation, but of supplication and trust in God’s amazing faithful love for us. To make a profession of vow is not only a personal commitment , it is also to beg for help for we, who are making the vows, are human beings, aware of our limitations and frailties, but, at the same time, trustful in God’s loving mercy and compassion.

Just as good wine needs to be aged, so too, anniversaries have to be waited for, worked for, that is why they are precious. However, it is really God’s fidelity to us through all these years that we are celebrating today. Such fidelity of God is the one that shines like a precious gem- pure gold for the five us. It is through God’s blessings that we have been able to keep our vows and all their demands, surviving difficulties, accepting changes following Vatican II gradually held ground. But ultimately, it has been a long fifty years: grace-laded, replete with blessings, simple joys and struggles as well-all proofs of God’s faithful and unconditional love for us.

“Blessed be God” has been a favorite saying of St. Candida Ma. De Jesus. Every vocation story of an Hija de Jesus is indeed God’s priceless gift. In the journey of our vocation, there have been many persons who in these fifty years have been instruments of God to help us become better Hijas de Jesus: our formators, superiors, and sisters in the different communities where we have been assigned. Thank you so much!

We also thank our families, our parents who are already with God, our dear brothers and sisters who have been God’s instrument in our homes to makes us experience filiation and fraternity.

We likewise thank our sisters from the different communities in Metro Manila for sharing our joy and gratefulness today.

We thank all of you present here today for gracing this occasion.

Rejoicing and singing with Mary her Magnificat, we again thank God for all the graces and blessings He has bestowed on us for the past 50 years of our religious life. It is Advent and as we await for the coming of Jesus, with Mary, our Mother, we beg her to continue accompanying us in the remaining years of our life’s journey and place us with her Son.

Maraming Salamat!
