The school year 2020-2021 is distinctive and challenging in the education sector. As the country affected by COVID 19, we need to revise the usual and embrace the new normal.

This school year, the Stella Maris Academy of Davao accepted the challenges brought about by the new set-up. The school commits another year of service in spreading God’s words by giving Christian formation to the young people.

The Holy Spirit mass was initiated by the Pastoral Team last September 25, 2020 at exactly 7:30 in the morning via online. The bell was sounded three times to signify the start of the mass and for the community to start together at the same time. The maintenance personnel with some administrators attended the holy mass in the chapel. The advisers were with their students via online while the non-advisers and staff had it in their respective offices and assigned rooms.

Rev. Fr. Ritsche Gamaya DCD, in his homily emphasized three key points about the Holy Spirit. First, he said that the Holy Spirit unites us even in times that we are scattered and disconnected. We may be distanced physically, but through social media, we are united spiritually. Second, the Holy Spirit renovates us as we embrace the new normal and adapt to new discoveries and third, the Holy Spirit brings about life. With the many things that are happening in our surroundings, the Holy Spirit will always give life to his people.

Celebrating the Holy Spirit mass always gives us an opportunity to praise God and thank Him for all that He has done for us.
