Lenten Recollection at SMAD

On March 24, 2021,we, the faculty and staff of Stella Maris Academy of Davao attended a Lenten recollection with the theme , “A Journey Toward Easter” via Zoom by Fr. Ronald M. Masilang, RCJ. He reminded us how we prepare ourselves for the Holy Season of Easter.

How time flies? In eleven days, we will celebrate Easter Sunday. For us, Catholics we consider this as a center of our faith and belief. It represents that Jesus saved us from our sins by dying and rising again after three days. As St. Paul said, “If Christ did not resurrect, our faith is in vain.”

As we journey towards Easter, wouldn’t it be beautiful to travel with Jesus, to reflect and be immersed with His love for us. Jesus’ resurrection only reveals His immense love and that He has loved us first. God’s very being is love and the revelation of the nature of His love is found in the free gift of His Son to us, so that we may share life with God and be delivered from our sins.

As we share love to others it reveals the true nature of God and His presence in our lives. One who loves shows that one is a child of God and knows God. As His child, let us be reminded to follow His pattern, to put love in our actions and interaction with one another so that others may see and be inspired that Jesus lives in us. And if we are to face weariness in our faith, let prayer be the source of our strength

As Easter Sunday draws closer may we live each day contemplating how far God’s love has gone. The passion and death of Jesus declares his passionate love for us. Acknowledging that indeed God is love. With this realization, may we always place God at the center of our lives. Like St. Francis of Assissi, may our hearts cry out: “My God and my all”.
