SMAD Celebrates the Nativity of Mary

Happy Birthday, Mama Mary!

As Filipino Christians, Mary always holds a special place in our hearts not only in her role as the Mother of God but also in her role as our Mother and great intercessor.

Last September 8, 2021, the SMAD Educative community celebrated the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The special day of tribute to the blessed mother started with a morning offering and the exposition of the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, where the community could offer their flowers as a sign of love and devotion. In this special celebration, the awards for the “Kapatid sa Kapwa of the Month” were also given to the deserving members of the community.

The prayerful atmosphere continued in the classroom where a special prayer to Mary was prayed by the students together with their advisers. The celebration of the Nativity of Mary culminated at exactly 3:00 pm by praying the Holy Rosary led by the Pastoral Ministry team with the offering of flowers and songs in every mystery. In relation to the recent celebration of Buwan Ng Wika, the Lord’s Prayer was prayed in different languages. It ended with a happy atmosphere of picture taking, offering flowers by other members, and the singing of a birthday song to Mary.

It was truly a fruitful and meaningful celebration that allowed us to deepen our devotion to the Blessed Mother. May Mary, Star of the Sea continue to guide us to Jesus, and may she continue to cover us with her mantle of protection now and forever.
