nothing matters

A dramatic moment in the Gospel of John was when the Resurrected Jesus, whom Mary Magdalene did not as yet recognized, called out her name, “Mary.” And she responded with “Rabboni.”

Such moments, rare as they are, make us very present to the now, when the past and the future seem to fall away, when no one else takes center stage, except me and the Lord, for He has called me by my name. When that moment comes, nothing else really matters. Such is a glimpse of eternity – like a precious gem, which we cannot find at will, but which is given when the proper time comes. It grounds us, reminds us of who we are, and most importantly, WHOSE we are.

Who holds your heart?

What holds your heart?
