THE JANUARY 1ST METRO MANILA GATHERING

Can you imagine the highlight of the Metro Manila gathering being the presentation of the sisters in Tahanan? In a morning filled with prayer, presentation, and games, the TCMJ sisters put on a video called “Armchair Exercise,” with the sisters in wheelchairs up front, and got everybody doing the exercise for some minutes.

It was fun and fraternal and familial. Of course, we had group games which everyone took part in. We also had two beautiful presentations of the young sisters from the Chinese community. And lo and behold, Sr. Gene Suson had a dance number with a lay collaborator, Angelie Alcaller.

There was the traditional exchange gift, with the traditional mix-ups and confusion and much laughter. At the end of the program, the January birthday celebrants, including our Provincial, Sr. Thelma Barbarona, were greeted, and everyone read out a long, beautiful blessing for them. Sr. Thelma also distributed biscuits to each of the houses here.

Of course, the gathering was capped by a sumptuous lunch and more sharing and stories and laughter. This is one event we all look forward to, for in the spirit of the Christmas Season, and in the goodwill found at every beginning of a year, filiation and fraternity are particularly felt.
