Provincial Superior Sr. Emelinda Falsis’ Canonical Visit to Panay-Guimaras Community
On October 2, 2024, Sr. Emelinda C. Falsis, FI, Provincial Superior of the Indico Pacific Province concluded her week-long annual canonical visit to Panay-Guimaras Community which aims to strengthen the spiritual and pastoral life of the local community. She started her visit last September 24, 2024. Sr. Lyn engaged in dialogues and individual meetings with the sisters in the community. These personal encounters allowed her to know the personal realities of the sisters, hear their concerns, and encourage them.
A key highlight of the visit was Sr. Lyn’s meeting with the lay collaborators. She praised their dedication and encouraged them to continue their efforts with a spirit and deeper sense of synodality. Her visit was an important occasion for the Panay-Guimaras community, leaving a lasting impact on the sisters and the lay collaborators, and encouraging them to continue their service work with renewed faith and vigor.
The visit ended with a community encounter last October 2 at Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion, Inc., Pototan. The points given, the allotted times for prayer, and the familial sharing provided beautiful introductions for contemplation of the different personal and communitarian realities, leading to a deeper awareness of the joys and challenges in living the identity as true Hijas de Jesus.
As the encounter ends, the sisters bring with them back into their respective houses and realities the rejuvenating hope and desire that through the grace of God, they may be able to respond generously to His invitations to live a life of coherence and fidelity as true Hijas de Jesus.
