Welcoming Our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV

MAY 08

Welcoming Our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV

With hearts full of joy and gratitude, we welcome our new Pope — Pope Leo XIV, a shepherd chosen for this time, for this Church, for this world.- Cardinal Robert Prevost, the first pope from the United States of America.

Moments like this remind us of the profound unity we share in faith. As the white smoke rose and the name of our new Holy Father was announced, a wave of hope swept across the world. In his first appearance, marked by a gentle gesture and a quiet, prayerful presence,  he embodied the truth that the papacy is a call to humble service and deep communion. In that moment, many hearts were stirred, and a sense of peace settled across the Church and beyond.

There is joy, the kind that springs from knowing that God continues to guide His people with love and wisdom. There is a welcome,  a heartfelt embrace that transcends distance, cultures, and languages. And there is deep gratitude,  for the continuity of faith, for the gift of the Spirit, and for the quiet courage of one who says “yes” to this sacred task.

We hold our new Pope in our prayers. May his heart remain close to Christ. May his leadership inspire peace, justice, and renewal. And may we, the faithful, walk with him in hope.

Welcome, Holy Father. We rejoice with you. We pray for you. We journey together in Christ, for "In Him, is a Pathway of Hope.
