“Where is the Spirit leading the Hijas de Jesús in this new time of mission?” This guiding question was explored during the Transmission of the 19th General Congregation (GC XIX) on August 16, 2025, at Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion, Inc., Pototan.

The event brought together four Hijas schools from Panay-Guimaras and was facilitated by Sr. Ma. Leoly M. Quitorio, F.I., and Sr. Felisa M. Molina, F.I., who attended GC XIX in Rome earlier this year. Sr. Leoly shared an overview of the Congregation, highlighting its theme, “With Him, Pathway of Hope,” and the six key stages of the assembly.

Participants engaged in reflections on religious life, hope, and mission, including talks on the Synodal Church and the prophetic role of religious life today. Reports and dialogues also emphasized the need for reconfiguration, renewed prioritization of the apostolic mission, and a deeper understanding of the Congregation’s charism, particularly through Our Characteristic Way of Educating (OCWE).

During the transmission, participants—grouped as Maintenance, Faculty, and Staff—entered into personal prayer and rounds of sharing, presenting their insights and commitments. Two personnel from Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion shared their reflections: Ms. Evangeline C. Biyo highlighted the call to love neighbors on the margins, while Ms. Kriszel Joy Siva expressed gratitude for the gift of listening, communion, and discernment.

The transmission concluded with a renewed sense of hope, communion, and mission, inspiring the community to continue the work of St. Candida Ma. de Jesús and serve the children entrusted to their care.
