Sta. Perpetua Parish Vocation Ministry: Making our Presence Felt in Faith and Service
SEP 29

The Sta. Perpetua Parish Vocation Ministry was organized this year to nurture faith and vocation through its Ecclesial Presence and the recent Triduum and Feast Day celebration in honor of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus, the parish’s beloved patroness for vocation.
Every 3rd and 4th Sunday of the month, members of the Vocation Ministry, together with lectors, altar servers, Eucharistic ministers, and commentators, serve at the 9:00 a.m. Mass. These Sundays are moments of prayerful presence, unity, and service, as parish ministries collaborate to inspire the parishioners of Sta. Perpetua.
During the Parish pastoral visit of Bishop Elias Ayuban, Jr, the new Bishop of Cubao, the different religious congregations and the Parish pastoral council members joined in welcoming him, as well participated in the Holy Mass he presided.
As part of the parish’s spiritual life, the Vocation Ministry also organized “The Spiritual Journey with St. Thérèse” from September 29 to October 1 with a triduum which included the praying of the Holy Rosary, and Vespers led by various congregations (OP, Siena, Hijas de Jesús, and Carmelite Missionaries), and the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on the second day hosted by the Hijas de Jesus. During the triduum, several religious members also shared their vocation stories, offering heartfelt witness to God’s call and faithfulness in their lives. Sr. Mary Mae Santorce shared her own vocation life with the faithful on September 30, the assigned day for the Hijas de Jesus. Several F.I. sisters also attended the said activity.
The event invited parishioners, youth, and religious organizations to deepen their understanding of St. Thérèse’s “Little Way” — a reminder that holiness is found in simple acts of love, humility, and trust in God. Through these gatherings, the Sta. Perpetua Parish Vocation Ministry continues to encourage everyone to pray, discern, and live out their vocation, serving God and the Church with joy and hope.
As part of the activities, a “Dalaw Patron” was organized after the procession, with the family of Joyce Santos at 10 G. Roxas St., Brgy. San Jose was the first to receive the image of St. Thérèse. This special visit served as an opportunity to reach out to the families of ministry members and to grow together in the mission in the Church through prayer and sharing.
