The Indico Pacific Province of the Hijas de Jesus Holds its General Assembly
MAY 18
The Indico Pacific Province of the Hijas de Jesus held its General Assembly on May 18–19, 2026, bringing together sisters both online and onsite at Manresa Retreat House for two days of prayer, reflection, dialogue, and planning. The gathering opened with a prayer service and words of welcome, followed by a session on Conversation in the Spirit facilitated by Mr. JP Villanueva. Participants also received the Provincial Econome’s Report presented by Sr. Cecile Solis, F.I., which provided an overview of the province’s economic situation.
The first day continued with presentations on the congregation’s various presences and their economic realities. Reports were likewise shared regarding the process of transferring two presences to another congregation and to an institution. These presentations served as valuable material for personal reflection, group discussion, and communal discernment as the sisters considered the challenges and opportunities facing the province.
On the second day, Atty. Sabino Padilla III led a review of the responsibilities of local superiors, principals, treasurers, and regional coordinators. This was followed by reports from the various ministry teams, including Formation, Vocation Promotion, Youth Ministry, Economic Administration, FITEA, and the Friends of St. Candida. The sisters then gathered in house groups for the practice of Spiritual Conversation, a method of communal discernment that helps individuals and communities listen attentively to the Holy Spirit and seek God's will in their daily lives. The assembly concluded with a sharing of insights and expressions of gratitude, as the sisters thanked the speakers and all those whose efforts contributed to a fruitful and grace-filled gathering.
