On the Saturday evening of May 27, 2023, Philippine time, a momentous event unfolded in the virtual realm. It was the highly anticipated 2nd International Youth Encounter organized by Hijas de Jesus Indico-Pacific. With the theme "GO, F.I. YOUTH, LET’S GO," the encounter aimed to inspire and empower young individuals to embark on their unique journeys of personal growth and purpose.

The clock struck 13:00 hours in Rome, Italy, marking the commencement of this extraordinary gathering. Although physically scattered across different corners of the world, the participants were united by their shared passion for the charism of St. Candida Maria de Jesus. F.I. sisters, students, and alumni eagerly logged into the online platform.

The encounter became a catalyst for self-reflection, igniting a collective desire to embrace individuality. Its purpose is to foster camaraderie among the youth so they may be instruments of God’s mission. Furthermore, as young people, we are called to bring Jesus to others and encourage everyone to partake in the missionary spirit. As sons and daughters of St. Candida, this encounter has been an avenue to reach out to others and embrace the beauty of diversity, wherein we remain steadfast in our desire to overcome prejudice and initiate a world infused with the ambiance of love.

We, the young, play an important part in youth ministry because we have distinct perspectives and talents that may contribute to society as a whole. Hence, this inspires me to encourage a culture of collaboration with my fellow youth. Through our communal effort, I believe that we can actively share our ideas and learn from the varied experiences of one another. In addition, considering the rampant rise in mental health issues in my current generation, I commit to creating a safe and inclusive space for everyone where they can freely express themselves without fear of judgment or exclusion. I hope that little efforts, such as simply listening and understanding them, can help foster an environment that respects and values the uniqueness each of us possesses.

As the hours flew by, the encounter drew to a close, but the impact it had left on us was immeasurable. We departed with hearts filled with inspiration and a renewed sense of purpose. I am beyond grateful to have been a part of this endeavor. The encounter was a heartwarming experience that made me acquire invaluable insights on the participation of youth in the development of our community and beyond. It has empowered me to make a difference. The 2nd International Youth Encounter had been a resounding success, sowing the seeds of change in the hearts of the youth and setting them on a transformative journey of self-discovery and action. As the virtual platform faded away, its digital footprint remained etched in the memories of those who had participated. The encounter served as a reminder that, despite physical limitations, young people can come together to build a bright future and embolden one step at a time toward their aspiration to immortalize the charism of the foundress.
