HANNAH NOKREK & RACHEBELLE LAZARO BASCO START POSTULANCY
The Hijas de Jesus Indico-Pacific Province is graciously blessed with the gift of vocation of two postulants – from Bangladesh, Hannah Nokrek who entered on June 29th, Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, and from the Philippines, Rachebelle Lazaro Basco who entered on July 31st, Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola.
Sr. Emelinda Falsis, Provincial Superior welcomed with great joy the two new postulants to the Congregation and assured them that they will be accompanied in their formation process through the Hija de Jesus Sister assigned to them “to grow in self-knowledge and knowledge of the Congregation in order to confirm one’s vocation and embrace it more freely and joyfully.” (GPF 54)
St. Candida encourages both of them through this letter written to Natalia Bandres Elosegui on July 12, 1912. “Continue praying my daughter; God and our Most Pure Mother will repay you. I, for my part, pray for you, too, so that you may be good and faithful to Jesus who loves you dearly, because the more you love Him, the more He will adorn your soul with virtues and make you pleasing to Him. “(MF #467)
FROM THE WORD OF THANKS OF THE NEW POSTULANTS
I am very happy today because I became a postulant. I thank God for making me fulfill his will. I also thank Mother Mary and mother candida who are with me in following god's will.
God created me so I am only for him. With his grace, I will follow his will. Lord, please bless me so I can always follow your will and always be faithful to you.
– Hanna Nokrek
Thank you, Mother Mary and the saints, St. Ignatius, St. Therese of the Child Jesus, and Mother Foundress, for inspiring me with your words and life. I desire to live them faithfully as my response to God’s love.
Thank you, our Loving Father, the Almighty and powerful but ever-patient God, for your wonders, miracles, and overflowing graces, just to put me here on this exact spot.
Thank you, Jesus, for loving me unconditionally. I pray that through your Spirit, I may go wherever you call me and do whatever you will for me and through me. All that I have received from you, I return them to you, oh Lord.
It is just the beginning for me—an entrance to a new path that may not be easy and convenient, but meaningful and fruitful through the grace of God.
Please pray for my perseverance, in the face of difficulties and challenges.
That even without celebrations, may I continue praising His name.
When things get tougher, may I hold on to my vocation tighter.
Or when He seems distant and silent, may I stay still and have faith that He is there.
And that I may have a deeper trust and stronger love for Jesus through the intercession of Mother Mary, in light of the hopes and dreams of St. Candida.
I hope to see you all again, in God’s time, in the future entrances that I have in formation. May the grace, love, and very presence of God remains in us all.
