ENCOUNTER OF THE PROVINCIAL SUPERIOR WITH THE SISTERS OF JAPAN

The Sisters of Japan were very happy and grateful to Sr. Emelinda Falsis, FI, who came to visit just before we bid goodbye to the year 2023. Her visit was from December 13-23, where she had two separate encounters, one in Hayama and the other in Tokyo. The visit was made meaningful because of the simple opportunities of encounters during individual dialogue, conversations at meal times, laughter during recreation, and most of all, in the shared prayers.

Sr. Emelinda shared about the process of how we were able to finally start our new mission in Indonesia, highlighting the activities of the aspirants and those who have been instrumental in starting the foundation.  In Bangladesh, she showed pictures of our two postulants and an aspirant. The Sisters marveled at the improvements since the last time they’d shown pictures of the mission. Sr. Emelinda mentioned that part of it came from the donations of Japan.

The encounter concluded with Sr. Emelinda, thanking the Sisters for making her visit fruitful and joyful. With the integration of Sr. Mary Mae Santorce, our Junior Sister in the community of Japan, she reminded the Sisters of their important role as a formative community.

Sharing with you some pictures of Sr. Emelinda’s visit and the encounter of the community during the Christmas season.
