Year of the Poor…Year of the Sheep

Sacred Heart School-Hijas de Jesus celebrated the Chinese New Year on February 17, 2015, a day earlier, as the following day was already Ash Wednesday.

Sponsored as always by the very able and dedicated officers of the Parents Association, this year’s theme:  Growing in Humility and Love for the Poor in the Year of the Sheep, was an attempt to be in resonance with the Holy Father’s message during his papal visit to the Philippines to feel more and do more for our poor brothers and sisters — who, come to think of it, are so like The Sheep! … though meek and humble, are also strong and tough inside, are loyal, steadfast and determined.  As the Church also celebrates the Year of the Poor, let us all be like the Poor, learn from them and imitate their inner strength and resiliency, unwavering hope and faith in the Lord amidst life’s adversities.
