CELEBRATING AS ONE BIG FAMILY

As one big family in the Church, the St. Candida Hostel’s Girls, Staff and Guardians, the SDB Fathers with their hostel boys and seminarians, the St. Teresa Hostel ladies and some FI vocation prospects,   other Religious Sisters, Priests and Parishioners had celebrated with the FI Sisters the Feast of St. Candida last August 7 in Bangladesh.

The celebration started with the Eucharistic celebration held at Mary Our Help Church in Utrail with Most Rev. Bishop Paul Ponen Kubi, CSC, the Bishop of Mymensingh, as the main celebrant. In the Mass, a hostel parent and an FI vocation prospect had shared their personal testimony of St. Candida who inspires them in their life. A young couple whose baby girl’s Christian name is Candida had offered flowers to the Blessed Mother. The parents had also offered meaningful things from their own precious resources: eggs, coconuts, live chickens, and vegetables. The Mass was solemn indeed. The distribution of native sweets to the people, which is a common practice as a symbol of thanksgiving, was done after the Mass.
