Kumustahan – a Walking Together in Life and Vocation

On October 24, 2026, five sisters gathered online for a meaningful Kumustahan—a time to listen to one another and share their journey of life over the past three to four years. This ongoing formation program was organized by the Formation Team, with Sr. Felisa Molina as host and Sr. Helen Catangcatang as facilitator. The participants were Srs. Dionisa Quela, Evelyn de Alba, Teresa Yasa, Catherine Cheong, and Lee Uera.

More than a simple gathering, it was an opportunity to pause and look back on their life experiences: the challenges they had faced, the joys they had celebrated, the consolations they had received, and the graces that had sustained them along the way. Each sister brought her own story, her struggles and blessings, and her unique way of experiencing God’s faithful presence throughout the years.

At the heart of this encounter was the desire to deepen their sense of belonging as Hijas de Jesús and to renew their commitment to living the charism of Mother Cándida through Filiation, Fraternity, and Service. The sisters affirmed that the call to love and serve does not diminish with age. Rather, they expressed their continuing desire to live their vocation fully, responding to God’s love in the here and now and remaining attentive to His invitations in this stage of their lives.

Through listening, sharing, and accompanying one another, the sisters were reminded that the journey of vocation is a lifelong response to God’s love. It is a journey toward ever-greater intimacy with Him and a deeper awareness of their identity as Daughters—beloved by God to the very end. Together, they continue to discover how to live this identity with gratitude and generosity, embracing the grace and possibilities of each new day.

The sisters expressed their gratitude for the Kumustahan ongoing formation program and for the Provincial Team’s care and concern for each Hija de Jesús. This initiative was a tangible expression of the Congregation’s desire to accompany its sisters throughout every stage of life. It also reaffirmed the gift of walking together as sisters, continuing to discover, at every age and in every circumstance, what it means to be Hijas de Jesús.
