A Month of Prayer and Generosity: Celebrating Rosary Month at St. James’ Catholic High School, Inc.
On October 7, 2026, the Jamesian community gathered to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary with a meaningful celebration of prayer, unity, and kindness. The occasion served as a reminder of the importance of faith, devotion to Mary, and love for others, especially those who are in need.
The celebration began with the entire Jamesian community coming together at the St. Candida Gym to pray the Holy Rosary. Through this communal prayer, students, teachers, and school personnel united in faith, entrusting their intentions to the Blessed Virgin Mary and reflecting on the life of Jesus through the mysteries of the Rosary. It was a meaningful opportunity for everyone to deepen their relationship with God and strengthen their devotion to Mary, reflecting one of the school’s core values, Love for Mary.
After the prayer, students from each grade level offered the goods and donations they had prepared. These offerings will be used for the school’s upcoming outreach activity in December. This simple gesture showed that even small acts of giving can become expressions of love and concern for others. By sharing what they have, the students learn the value of generosity and the importance of reaching out to those who may need help and support.
The celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary also reminds the Jamesian community that faith should not be limited to a single celebration or occasion. Throughout the month, the community continues to express its devotion by praying the Holy Rosary every morning before the start of first period classes. Aside from these daily prayers, students are also encouraged to practice generosity by setting aside a small portion of their daily allowances and placing it in their mission boxes. Although these contributions may seem small, they become meaningful when offered with sincere hearts and a genuine desire to help others.
As part of this community, I see how these simple acts of prayer and sacrifice can make a difference in the lives of others. Through our daily prayers and small offerings, we continue to strengthen our faith and share God’s love with those in need.
May the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary inspire us to become more prayerful, selfless, and loving, allowing our simple sacrifices to become a source of hope and joy for others and reminding us that when we share our blessings with love, we become instruments of God’s goodness in the world.
