7th Day of the Provincial Congregation: Recognizing the Graciousness of God

The seventh day of the Provincial Congregation began with joy and gratitude. Warm smiles and gentle greetings reflected the deep bond among the sisters, as a spirit of quiet reflection lingered—a recognition of God’s gracious presence, beautifully echoed in the priest’s homily on John the Baptist, meaning “God is gracious.”

A video presentation on the Hijas de Jesus mission in the Philippine region followed. During this, Sr. Lynn delighted everyone with early Christmas gifts—Jubilee Rosaries, keychains, bracelet rosaries of Mother Candida from Rome, and books for the different houses. These thoughtful surprises brought immense joy, reminding all of the beauty of giving and receiving with open hearts.

The morning continued with the reflection groups discerning the Nuclear Point that will guide the XIX General Congregation. After personal study and prayer, the sisters engaged in group discussions, allowing the Spirit to move freely among them. When insights were shared at the general assembly, a deep sense of unity emerged, as many groups arrived at similar themes—a sign of hearts attuned to the same Spirit. Despite working separately, many groups arrived at similar themes —a clear sign of hearts and minds attuned to the same Spirit.

In the evening, the sisters celebrated a vibrant Christmas Eve Mass, enriched by the presence of people from the neighborhood, whose participation added warmth and a sense of shared joy to the Eucharist worthy of Christ’s birth.

After the Mass, the sisters came together for a joyful and lighthearted Christmas gathering filled with laughter, music, presentations, and games. The evening vibrated with happiness and a free-spirited camaraderie, offering a much-needed release from the stresses of daily responsibilities. The night ended on a happy note, as everyone looked forward to the dawn of Christmas Day—a celebration of peace, hope, and the loving presence of Emmanuel, God with us.
