LENTEN JOURNEY – 4TH SUNDAY OF LENT

As we go through our Lenten journey, we encounter God’s merciful embrace which restores our confidence in knowing that we are beloved daughters. We continue to pray for the General Congregation XIX, trusting in the Spirit who guides us. On this occasion we pray with the fourth paragraph:

May Mary be the star of our paths.

as she was for St. Candida Maria de Jesus.

The Word illumines us…

Now all the tax-collectors and sinners were coming near to listen to him.  And the Pharisees and the scribes were grumbling and saying, ‘This fellow welcomes sinner and eats with them.’

So he told them this parable…  Then the father said to him, “Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and has come to life; he was lost and has been found.”’

Lk 15, 1-3.11-32

St. Candida invites us…

“Continue your devotion to the Blessed Virgin; always have recourse to her. Through her powerful and maternal protection, you will find the remedy for all your needs. As a loving Mother, she will not abandon you and who will present your supplications to Jesus so he may favorably grant them according to his most holy will. We must strive to surrender ourselves in everything.”

Letter #419 to Natalia Bandrés. 3 June, 1911.

It helps us to live…

Do you pray to Mary so as to draw closer to Jesus?

Who is Mary for you?

How do you relate to her?
