TREE-MENDOUS COMMUNITY: SHARING, OUTREACH, AND TALENTS

On March 30, 2025, PGYE participants began their day preparing for a day full of activities—tiring, yet filled with lessons and love.

The day started with a mass at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, a designated jubilee Church. This was a meaningful experience, especially since it was the first time for most of participants to celebrate mass in this  Parish .

After breakfast was  the  talk entitled "Hope in Every Season: Finding Light in Dark Times and Making a Difference." by Fr. Nathaniel Gentizon, a native of Guimaras and an alumnus of St. Joseph School. He shared his personal experiences, including childhood memories and the story of Venerable Carlo Acutis.

Following the talk, an activity  where in participants focused on identifying their symbols of hope. Every caring group created astonishing posters that reflected  hope in their hearts and minds.

After this meaningful event, two more activities  followed. First was the outreach activity, with the theme "Hands to Serve, Hearts to Love." The activity began with interactive games  and served as a way to build bonds between the participants and the IP residents of Brgy. Kati-Kati in Guimaras. After the games, the participants had the opportunity to interact with the IP Youth , learning about their lives, daily routines, and culture.

Next, the long-awaited tree planting activity took place. The participants walked for 30 minutes .Each participant planted a tree with the hope that it would grow into a tree that would bear fruits of hope for the community.

Lastly, the night event brought the day to a close. The grounds were filled with talent as participants sang and danced in unity. Every school that participated had prepared a performance, and St. Joseph School led the lighting of the bonfire.  The day ended with the  conscious  examen  prayer and as  the lights turned off, the participants enjoyed the moment, and there was no better way to end the day. Memories were created and cherished. The flame burned with hope, love, faith, and passion for what the future holds.
