The Canonical Visit of the Provincial Superior of Indico-Pacific Province to Bangladesh Community

On January 7, 2023, Sr. Emelinda Falsis ,F.I., Provincial Superior and Sr.
Jojie Silorio, F.I, provincial counselor, arrived at Hazrat Shajalal International Airport,
Dhaka, Bangladesh, and were met by Sr. Eufemia Solleza and Sr. Lory los Bañes.
They were brought straight to Raffleesia Hotel in Gulshan, Dhaka for an overnight
stay.
The next day, January 8, the sisters went to the Jesuit Kindergarten School
which was formerly a Retreat House. They were met by Fr. Srijon, S.J., Retreat
House in charge, together with Fr. Probash, S.J., kindergarten Principal-Superior of
the house, and with Fr. Ilias, S.J., In-charge of the pre- novitiate and vocation
promotion. They were warmly welcomed with a cup of tea and a typical Bangladeshi
biscuits while waiting for Fr. Ripon, Superior of the Jesuit Mission in Bangladesh and
Novice Master. After taking the snacks, Fr. Probash, toured them around the newly renovated school.

The Jesuits brought them to their newly acquired lot for the Jesuit Novitiate
and Retreat House in Bangladesh. They had a formal meeting in the school with the
sisters.
After the meeting and lunch, the sisters travelled to Mymensingh where Sr.
Malou Guillano was waiting for them. They also met with our the two postulants,
Mowtoshi Chambugong and Chondira Mrong, attending the seminar for the post high
secondary certificate program for students .

On January 9, accompanied by Sr. Femy Solleza and Sr. Lory, they made a
courtesy call to Bishop Ponen Paul Kubi, at Bishop’s house. Sr. Lynn also met Fr.
Ashes Dio, the Director of the Pastoral Center.

The sisters left Mymensingh at 1:00 o’clock p.m. for Utrail in a CNG
(combustible nitrogen gas) tricycle.

Upon arriving in Birisiri at 2:45 pm, they were warmly welcomed by the
aspirants, postulants, and St. Candida Hostel girls, with Srs. Femy Pomado and
Helen Catangcatang. At vespers, there was a consecration to the Aspirancy of
Hannah Nokrek from Buratpur, Durgapur.

On January 10, after the mass, Srs. Lynn and Jeck greeted Fr. Cosma Van de
Lam, SDB, a Vietnamese Parish Priest of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, Utrail,
Birisiri, who celebrated the Eucharist.
In the morning, Sr. Lynn went to see the on-going construction of the
Formands’ Flat located at the third floor of the sisters residence. She also visited Mo.
Teresa Hostel.

January 11-12, Sr. Lynn made her formal canonical visit with individual the
conference with the sisters, while Sr. Jeck gave formation sessions to the aspirants
and girls at St. Candida and Mo. Teresa Hostel. She also had her individual with the
two postulants.

After the formal visit, the sisters offered them a thanksgiving and farewell
program at Mo. Teresa Hostel participated in by St. Candida and Mo. Teresa Hostel Residents.
