METRO MANILA COMMUNITIES HOLD A TWO-DAY REGIONAL ENCOUNTER

In a powerful start to the Metro Manila regional encounter, Sr. Helen Catangcatang from Bangladesh welcomed participants and led them with an opening prayer that set the tone for a journey of spiritual exploration. The theme, " Embracing Our Vulnerability and Its Transformative Potential," echoed through the gathering, emphasizing the power of love, acceptance, humility, patience, and trust in God and one another.

Sr. Emelinda Falsis, Provincial Superior, delivered a thought-provoking talk inspired by Ted Dunn's profound insights on "Grace and Crossroad." Her words delved into the transformative nature of vulnerability, drawing connections between grace and the crossroads we encounter in life.

As the regional encounter unfolded, it became clear that the event was not just a gathering; it was a profound exploration of spirituality, personal growth, and the shared mission of the congregation. The coming day promised more opportunities for reflection, dialogue, listening, and dialogue, using the method of spiritual conversation, and the collective embrace of vulnerability as a transformative force.

Following the enlightening talk, participants engaged in personal prayer and reflection, using Dunn's article as a guide. The room buzzed with a collective reflection, as individuals sought to embrace their vulnerabilities and explore the transformative potential within.

The afternoon session brought a dynamic activity focused on reviewing the past four years, celebrating the 150th founding anniversary of the congregation. Participants engaged in a deep reflection on how they lived out the General Congregation Determination and the Apostolic Calls during this period.

The heart of the encounter lay in sharing experiences in groups and reporting on personal journeys. This collaborative exchange created an atmosphere of connection and shared purpose, reinforcing the theme of spiritual growth by cooperating with the grace of God despite our vulnerability.

The day ended with an Examen which was facilitated by Sr. Nori Marquez, reviewing the day’s event in a prayerful reflection.

The Second day of the encounter delved into Congregation matters. while Sr. Leoly Quitorio updated the sisters on how the Province has been living out the GC XVIII Determination and calls.   Sr. Lorna Genovate discussed the financial matters and updated the sisters on the procedures proper for its administration. Sr. Lynn refreshed the memories of the sisters about the 3 3-year plan of the province leading to the next Provincial and General Congregations.  Sr. Edhen Paranga presented the scholarship program and its development through the Blessed Antonia Bandres and the Provincial and Congregational Educational Scholarships available for needy but deserving students.

"The two-day encounter served as a rejuvenating respite, lifting not only the spirits but also revitalizing the bodies, particularly for the sisters who had grown weary from the daily demands of their mission."
