CHJ’s Mid-lifers Face Inner Child

Everyone grows old. No question about that. But it is one’s choice to grow up. Now, that’s serious. Twenty-two mid-lifers from CHJ’s educative family bravely faced their child, or maybe, their children within, during an “On-Going Formation and

Midlife Journey” at the Holy Rosary Prayer and Reflection Center, at Calumpang, Molo, Iloilo City last June 30 to July 2, 2016.

Crisis is indeed an opportunity for growth, for from the wounding is the mission and the gift. The participants journeyed “Into the Well,” discovering the hopes and blocks to one’s desires and answering lingering questions that confront their personality, including the repressed and disliked parts of one’s self.

The mid-lifers allowed “images in the well” to appear, images of the past in different forms, personal memories and mysteries yet unresolved and unhealed, which return to disrupt one’s life in the present. These symbolic images were either written in a journal or painted in trapunto-like quilts.

The journey was facilitated by Sr. Aida P. Jallorina, F.I., assisted by Sr. Nilda G. Genovate, the RCA-Principal of CHJ. The first batch of young educators began their journey last May. Truly, it was a personal life’s journey as a healing story, as an initiation of the soul.
