MRH, FI SISTERS WELCOME LEGIONARIES OF STA. PERPETUA AND FELICITY PARISH
Despite the heavy rain on September 5, 2026, some 35 Legion of Mary senior and junior members of Sta. Perpetua and Felicity Parish came to MRH for their yearly “Praesidium Function” to celebrate the birthday of their mother and Queen, the Blessed Virgin Mary, from 8:30 -11:30 am. Six Hijas de Jesus sisters warmly welcomed them, and three of them stayed the entire morning to interact with them.
An hour before the event, Sisters Crystal and Mary Mae were already at the Multi-purpose Hall to prepare the sound system, PowerPoint screen, and air conditioning. Before leaving for Rome, Sr. Cecil Solis had already requested the MRH maintenance staff to clean the hall a day before the event. Sisters Alma Mae and Aida happily greeted the officers and members of parish legionaries as they arrived. Sisters Alice Peruel and Ester Lapitan stayed with them, together with Sr. Marianita, FI, who gave the Legion talk.
It was a joyful morning as each senior and junior praesidium presented their Marian song and dance numbers. The senior legionaries prepared a cake with candies and snacks, which gladly surprised the juniors. They also enjoyed a game called Marian Quiz/Trivia that tested their knowledge of the Legion System and received rosaries, Marian books, and other giveaways as prizes. Sr. Marianita gave a ten-minute talk explaining their Theme: Buklod Maria ( “Marian Connection”) and St. Louis Marie de Monfort’s words, “Mary as our easiest, shortest, and surest way to Jesus.”
At 10:30, the sisters and legionaries happily shared a sumptuous lunch lovingly prepared by the senior legionaries. Before going home, they all expressed their deepest thanks and appreciation for the beautiful venue and all-out support the FI sisters extended them, hoping to come back again next year.
