CEBU – MINDANAO COMMUNITY ENCOUNTER AND RENEWAL OF VOWS

 Fifteen (15) Sisters of Cebu – Mindanao Community composed of Davao, Cebu, El Salvador, and Lasang had their community encounter last June 23 – 24, 2017 at Sacred Heart School – Hijas de Jesus, Cebu City.

The sisters were eager to see one another since they gather only as a community twice a year. An exchange of news and information was done formally and informally. They started with the objectives of the encounter and the importance of a community. There was a sharing of salient points on the conference and the challenges posed by Mother General during her recent Canonical visit to the community. We visited the recent GC Determination and also reviewed our way of proceeding on Familial and Social Relations. Generous alumni of Sacred Heart School sent some food and sponsored a meal for the sisters. It was an animating yet challenging coming together, and we missed the presence of Srs. Mary Juelar and Pacita Legaspi, who had to stay home in El Salvador due to the tense situation in Mindanao.
