Manresa Retreat Compound Sisters, Lay Collaborators, and Friends Fully Vaccinated

Blessed be God!

There was much reason for hope and gratitude when several F.I. Sisters, lay collaborators, family members, and friends received their complete COVID-19 vaccination through the generosity and assistance of the Quezon City Local Government.

Among those vaccinated were Sisters from the Tahanan Candida Ma. de Jesus Community, Manresa Retreat House Residence, Asia Oriental Formation House, and Manresa School, together with lay collaborators, family members, and friends of the Sisters.

The staff of the Department of Health came to the Manresa Retreat House compound to conduct a home-service vaccination on May 19, 2021, administering the first dose of the Sinovac vaccine to 50 Sisters and lay recipients. The second dose was administered on June 16, 2021, completing their vaccination.

The occasion brought a renewed sense of hope and gratitude to everyone, especially as the Hijas de Jesus Congregation was celebrating its 150th anniversary of foundation. In the midst of the uncertainty and difficulties brought about by the pandemic, the vaccination was received as a blessing and a sign of God’s loving care and providence.

While giving thanks for this opportunity, the Sisters continued to pray for the end of the pandemic and for healing and protection for all those who were sick or greatly affected by the COVID-19 crisis. Their prayer also extended to the families, communities, and countless people who continued to face the challenges brought about by the pandemic.

Amid the fear and uncertainty of those days, the Manresa community found another reason to hope and to say with grateful hearts, we say again: Blessed be God!
