Touched and Renewed by the Visit

As the canonical visit of Mother General Graciela Francovig and Sr. Rosa Espinosa to Bangladesh drew to a close, the sisters gathered in prayer and sharing, recalling the graces of their time together and reflecting on what the visit had meant for the community and mission.

The days spent together were an opportunity to deepen relationships, share the joys and challenges of the mission, and experience more markedly the unity of the Congregation. Through their attentive listening, closeness, and participation in the sisters’ daily lives, Mother General and Sr. Rosa helped the community recognize God’s loving presence anew even amid the uncertainties of their mission.

The sisters expressed profound joy and gratitude for this visit, describing it as a grace-filled time, a precious gift from the Lord, and a source of renewed hope. Their presence was felt not simply as that of leaders visiting a community, but as sisters walking alongside them, sharing their experiences, and affirming their belonging to the wider Congregation.

For the sisters, the visit deepened their sense of belonging to the whole Congregation and reminded them that conversion is a lifelong journey of continually opening one’s heart to God.  Sisters shared how the experience renewed their missionary zeal, enlightened them about their identity as Hijas de Jesús in the Bangladeshi context, and strengthened their conviction that they are not alone in the mission, but are supported by the entire Congregation.

The time for farewell finally arrived, bringing with it heartfelt expressions of affection, warm embraces, and promises to remain united in prayer and mission. As the sisters accompanied Mother General and Sr. Rosa to the airport, the goodbyes were filled with gratitude for the moments shared, and the bonds of sisterhood strengthened during their stay.

Though the visit had come to an end, its fruits would continue to live in the community: a deeper sense of communion, greater hope, and a stronger commitment to the mission entrusted to them. The sisters will cherish this precious experience of God’s abiding presence and the unity of the Hijas de Jesús across distances and cultures.
